Hello all,

I bought my 2000 Sentra GXE last August and so far so good. It's a 5 speed.

The only thing that I have noticed over time is a whirring/whistling noise when I drive. It gets really loud sometimes. I cannot pinpoint for sure where it comes from, but I think it's from the front. It only happens when the car is in motion, not when it's idle. I have revved up the engine while standing still but there is no whirring noise then.

I have seen a few postings about whistling noises but I am not sure if it's the same one. If anyone has some info about this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

W-

It could very well be the windshield moulding. It has been a problem for several cars in the past. It makes a whitsling noise at speed. It is a warranty repair. Do a search for "windshield" or "wind noise" to find the relevant threads.

Hmmm, could be like mine. Bringing it in tomorrow to have it checked just to make sure. Its makes the faint whining noise when I shift gears.....well when the clutch is pressed, even slightly. Its annoying when you have the windows closed and the radio off.
