I went to Focus Sport today in Anaheim to get my Spec V dynoed and I pulled three runs. First let me jus say if any of U guys/gals in SoCal are looking to get your car dynoed the guys at Focus Sport are HELLA coo and helpful even though there main focus is Euro cars and the Ford Focus. For three runs it cost me 75 bucks and they gave me the hp and tq numbers. The run was done on a new 248H dyno machine.

Ne wayz on with my dyno session, they pulled my Spec around back, strapped it in and I believe the dynoed it in 3rd gear (but I'll ask on Monday to make sure). The tech pulled three quick runs with the hood open and a nice huge fan in front of the engine.

Out of the three runs my highest hp pull was 150 and my lowest hp pull was 148.5.

My best tq pull was 161 and the lowest tq pull was 158.2.

The tq peaked at 3700rpm's and the hp peaked at 5800rpm's.

edit-(Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I have 7900 miles on my Spec.)

I went ahead and scanned the dyno sheets for the skeptics, so if U want it just email me and I'll send it right on over or U can give Focus Sport a call at 714-630-1555 (I'm only Spec V that they've dynoed, so they'll know waht your talking about)

Oh yeah one last thing I got smoked by a new model VW GTI on the 210 freeway tonite, I don't know if it was a 1.8t or a VR6 but it definitely pulled hard and it was even harder to catch.

Ne Questions or comments???????

Good numbers man. It's good to see production models are getting higher numbers than SCC.

COOOL.
And about the VW, VW has been known to UNDERRATE their HP numbers for the 1.8T engines. So the 180hp that it's rated at...who knows.

Also, on the freeway, a stock 1.8T will pull on you cuz turbos thrive at higher speeds.

But regardless, nice numbers. Now take it to the track and break into the 14's!!!! :)

Questions, questions. Well the keyword is STYLING my Spec after JDM STYLE, obviously its not JDM. I like alot of the GENERAL sytling cues of JDM cars. Also I plan on using only JDM aftermarket parts for my ride, ie 5Zigen, Rays engineering, etc.. Please don't take the sig to heart like others have.

Now as far as the car not sucking anymore, it never did to begin with. If it did SUCK I know for dang sure I wouldn't be driving one today. I heard all the stuff SCC had to say, then I test drove one ANYWAY and loved the close 6 speed ratio, HLSD, push of the torque and the overall feel of the car. I made the decision for myself, not what other mags or people had to say.

As for the track I've been two times in my spec and the best run I've managed so far is 15.4 @ 89mph, but I'm not really a drag racer, I'm more of a road/track racer. I'll be going dragging again though this Friday and I'll try a few different things with the tire pressure and removing some materials from my car.

Also I'll be working with Focus Sport with all my performance mods, here is my plan I'll be buying a CAI or a modified Jim Wolf Pop Charger in a few weeks, I'm gonna drive the car with the mod for about 1-2 weeks and then I'm gonna dyno it. Then I'm gonna be getting an exhaust and dyno the exhaust after its been on for about 2-3 weeks. Since Focus Sport has my dyno saved in the their system, they can easily bring it back up and plot any new performance mods on the old dyno session.

As for the GTI, their dang fast and I didn't expect to get smoked but at least when he took off I wouldn't have a hard time catching him-YEAH I WAS WRONG about that.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention the GTi was modded, lowered, exhaust, bigger rims, maybe some other stuff, but when I was racing him I had my racing music on so I couldn't hear anything I could only see the mods he had.
