03 Spec V oil burning question

Looking at buying an 03 spec v with 105,000 miles on it. Looked at it and the dude said it burns a quart about every 500 to 600 miles. Is that excessive for the 2.5? I know the burn oil but I'm not sure if that's too much. Thanks!

I’d do a compression check before commuting to buy. My Spec had the same problem for a while due to precat failure scoring cylinder 3. I nursed it as best I could but it finally gave out.

Before my son totaled my 03 Spec V, it had 235,000 miles and used a quart every 5,000. I'd stay away from the one you're looking at. It either inhaled part of the precat or was driven exceptionally hard. Unless you're looking for a project.
