What are you gas prices averaging in your hometown? Its about 1.55 on an average here. That is alot compared to what it used to be (1.22). Takes me about 17.00 to fill up now. It used to only cost 14.00 =(

I'm in the Twin Cities, MN. When I left for work yesterday morning, it was $1.78 for a gallon of regular at the Amoco station outside my house, When I returned in the evening, it was $1.90. After filling up that station, the attendant told me to expect the price to exceed $2.00/gal this weekend.

Exxon/Mobil made a little over $17 billion is *net* profits last year, making them the most profitable company in the world. Their Q1 earnings this year exceeded $5 billion, so it looks like they're on the way to surpassing their '00 record. Shell reported a 23% gain in their profitability for Q1, compared with the same period last year.

In the meantime, we continue to pay outrageous prices at the pumps...

DL

Hey SS, what grade is that. Our price right now is about 1.55 for 87, 1.65 for 89, 1.75 for 93. That's up .06 from Tuesday, so I expect to pay more soon.

Heheheh. I just paid $2.09/gal last week. I'm not going to be surprised when I fill up in a day or two and it's $2.19/gal.

I've already seen $2.25/gal and the funny thing is I'm not even surprised anymore. Last year in the summer the highest I saw was $2.39. This year they claim $3.00 and MAYBE even $4.00. Now that would be absurd.

For that much I should really consider riding my bike around a lot more! :P

Oh yeah, I'm from Chicago just in case you wanted to know where gas is probably most expensive right now. I hear Northern Cali is expensive too, but not sure how much.

$1.96 for 87 octane. Cheapest station they listed on
the local TV news was $1.92.

I'm glad I didn't advance my timing. The 92 octane is over
$2.00.

At least I got a car that gets 28-33 mpg and not like some of these SUV's or V8 muscle cars. Spend $50 to fill up there tank and 1-1/2-2 weeks later there back again.

Exxon is a friggin rip off. They're all over the place here in Morgantown, and they're all expensive as hell. There's one place where there's a Chevron 2 doors down from an Exxon. Yesterday the Exxon was $1.79 and the Chevron was $1.69!

I agree completly. Exxon gas in Memphis, TN is outrageous. Right now I have been filling up on grocery store gas (i.e. Sesssel's or Albertson's, and Super K Mart or Big K.) Exxon usually has good deals on their cigs though.

Anyone on the board from Cali (L.A. county)? I want to see how high their gas is compared to the rest of us,
