Buying a Spec V again?
I brought my 2006 Spec V new back then. Love that car, but traded it in when the 3-36 warranty ended. My car ran "perfect" even with all the issues and recalls. Maybe I was just lucky.
I missed my car and thinking of getting it again. I do have a DD, so it will be a track-weekend car. Questions: 1. Would you buy a B15 Spec now? 2. Did all of the issues, fears, and concerns come true? 3. Do you think B15 Spec Vs are overpriced today? 4. Do you think it's better to just move on. Consider something else in that same price range? Thanks. |

the only major problem is the precat failures, which you may not have had your car long enough for the cats to begin failing. i would buy a b15 again, except id want to build the motor myself with 07+ headgasket and headbolts, with a catless header of course. most specv are underpriced, considering, but there are other things in the same price range. also, a vq swap would eliminate the precat problems, and be a great car on the track.
