They all do that. There's a lot of threads on it if you search.

If you turn the key to run, wait a few seconds, then start, it wills start easier, especially when cold.

You can replace / rebuild the fuel pump, but it will just do it again. Mind did for like 7 years, always started though.

are you priming your fuel?

keySTART for 2-3 seconds, listen for pump ringing
while keySTART, press clutch pedal to start motor

if this works most of the time, you need to add check valve to hold pressure in the line. there are recalls for the pumps and a repair kit, check your vin see if has been performed.

No. There will be times (FSM didn't say or I couldn't find it) that it won't prime, like when you just turned off the car and you try to turn it back on IIRC. The only thing I could think of is that it's a failsafe so that you don't "burst" the line. If that does happen though, you can take the key off, wait a few seconds and try again.

Also this has helped me greatly. When you first turn the key to the "on" position and the fuel pump primes for a few seconds, turn the key to "start" without pressing on the clutch pedal, the pump will run and continue to prime/run until you turn the key to "off". Kinda like a forced priming if you will.

have you done a tuneup lately? tested all your coils? if you have more than one coil failing on startup, the car may not fire up. does the motor shake violently when you are trying to start, or does the motor just spin without firing? assuming you have checked all your fluid levels.

Motor just spins withouth firing, im having a missfire code p0304, took out The spark plug And saw antifreeze coolant inside, imthinking The Mechanic didnt install thehead gasket or didnt torque it right....could The issue be That? Or couldmy fuel pump be bad also?

Once The Car starts it runs And idles fine, its just on start up That it doesnt want to fire right away or takes to long to start lila it isnt getting any gas, already change The injector . Swapped coils And it still showes That code

I replaced The head gasket 4 months agoand it got rid Of That code but now 4 months later its back again And i took out The spark plugs And saw coolant in there so im assuming it wasnt put on right

given that you had headgasket job, and its already failed if you have coolant on your pistons. that would most likely be your problem. if the fuel pump works once the motor is running, it may not be the pump. you ever notice your tach going to 0 when the motor is running? i believe you said you recently changed both cam & crank sensors yes? usually these are the problem with motor spinning freely and not firing. in your case, its seems more likely that your spark plugs are getting wet with coolant and not firing. maybe cylinder 4 is full of coolant. if you have coolant on pistons, you most likely have a bad headgasket.

side note: you just had a new headgasket installed, did you use a 07+ gasket and studs? you should be using the newer stuff

look up some information about using the 07+ headgasket on your 02-06 qr25, the headgasket has extra layer around the cylinders where they were commonly failing.
tach to zero = bad crank sensor.

im about 99% sure your headgasket is bad. how many other ways can you get coolant on the cylinders without pouring it thru the spark plug tubes? unless somehow it got mixed into your fuel? those are the only other ways to get coolant on top of cylinders.

You may need the updated cam and crank sensor kit available from the dealer.

The crank sensor is what fails causing a crank no start condition. Fuel pump is culprit if you let it sit for a while then try to start and it keeps cranking for the first few seconds, after that it will always start..
