SR20VE Swap in My SE

Hello everyone,

Well, my VE swap has officially begun as of yesterday. I mostly worked on prepping the engine bay to take the broken SR20DE out (i.e. remove the radiator, STB, CAI, ECU, harness, unplug hoses, disconnected the throttle cables, etc.). This is probably the most boring (also the most nervewrecking) part of the swap, but it has to be done. BTW, I knew I hated harness connectors before, but now I hate them even more...

I had a small issue with a header bolt where it bolts to the cat, so I have to get back to that later on. Lots more has to be taken out, such as the A/C compressor, axles, etc.

I'm at work for the rest of the week, so my next update will be during the weekend. I will also post pics when there will be something to take a picture of

Hopefully, the VE will be sitting in the engine bay by Saturday evening/Sunday morning.

Well, it looks like I've stirred lots of people's interest

I won't post pics for now, because a B15 with an empty engine bay is nothing new to anyone on here. Once the VE is in, I will post pics for sure.

Are you going to tear the old motor apart to see what happened?

I hope so, unless he were to just trash it or sell it to some unsuspecting fool.

For the cat bolts, make sure you replace with stainless steel nuts & bolts!

Yep, keeping the AC, as this is my daily driver.

...and I might have to cut a cat bolt, so if I am to replace any, I will go stainless steel for sure.

As for the engine, yes, it was dead. By the way, I have a feeling that what is causing my 0 compression on #2 is an intake valve blew/bent/got stuck open. This is from seeing the state of the interior of my intake manifold and TB

Well, the manifold is covered in "chunky" black soot, so I guess that the valve that stayed opened is on the intake side.
