07 spec v vs. 07 si sedan (a honda perspective)

i thought i would post this and see everyones(honda) opinion. especially page 5 the top post....YOWZA!

2 things I've noticed:

1) Average age there is about 18 and the grammer and maturity level is about half that. However, there were a hand full of smart people on there that had quality posts.

2) The Honda community is plagued with A.D.D. They have a hard time sticking with the topic.

But yes, I do agree with the most of them. The B15 has been cursed with butterfly screws, cheap piston rings etc etc etc and I winced everytime someone said "My friend had an 02 and (insert negative commment here)" There were a lot of people saying "All Nissan's are crap" but I throw those people in the same category with the ignorant mullet-heads that say all imports suck. It also goes to show that no matter what some magazine says, the true tests are conducted on the streets/tracks/forums that we all frequent. The B16 or whatever that is has not only caused a wave of criticism among car enthuisists but a backlash from it's loyalists that have owned nothing but Nissans. Someone throw Nissan a life jacket because they're sinking.

So he's saying he thinks the Spec V (new and old) are pieces of junk. Well, I guess he's kind of right...except the part about him being stock and beating modded Specs...had to be a bad driver.

It seems like all the Honda boys care about is looks. They're not proving anything here...even the Nissan guys think the new specs aren't the best looking. And 200hp out of a 2.5 liter isn't that bad. A WRX is a 2.5 liter with a turbo and it makes 224hp. When the Honda fanboys started saying the new si would own s2000's on a road course and that FWD > RWD i stopped reading and felt slightly dumber haha.

after reading the majority of that comparison, ive noticed a great deal of blind loyalty to honda. a lot of the marks were true, but a lot of it was just a whole new kind of stupid. reading this further strengthen my hate toward honda civic owners. not because of bashing nissan, just because of the collective intellect and lack of knowledge/opinions being stated as factual info. lol!!!

Man, eur_asian is right on the money. To paraphrase and respond:

"OMG our cars looks AWESOME."
You spent way too much on HFP junk.
"We have the most resale value."
Most stolen.
"The Spec has an ugly body11!11"
You have an ugly dash.
And no joke, someone is claiming to run 14 FLAT with I/H/E and Hondata in his Civic Si. Puh-lease.
And one more damn thing. MSRP on the Spec is will be 20k ish. Your looking at 24k for an Si.

Now I'm not saying the Spec will be better or worse than the Si, but after going through 14 pages of "OMG Nissan sux except GTRs LoL!" Along with "300ZXs suck, Classic SERs blow, and 240SX suck compared to Civics cause FWD > RWD." Now I love my car, but I'll never be accused of being a fanboy to the torquey time bomb in my engine bay. Christ, I'm working on my 7th D-series build up in the past year and I am SO GLAD I'm not involved with the Honda community at large. B15 Sentra.net, we may be smart asses, but at least we're not dumb asses.

how bout the guy that said he smoked a spec v with his 96 ser. i own both cars and no way can the ser without swap smoke a spec v. they dyno at like 120something.them s3 cams must give them like 40hp.am i missing something here?

i still wouldnt own a civic , i dont care how fast they are.

i love how they say they were beating fully bolted + cammedspecs with their bone stock si's.

Im the first one to say honda is doing great things with the k20 but the (z3 - 06 si) motor is garbage off the line Ive personally ran a few (offroad but off course[boat ramps off us-27]) and can say that my bonestock spec puts a good 2- 4 cars (depending on other driver) off the line and 1 - 2 cars from a roll (again driver dependent) they never pull back till 105 - 110mph +.

finally the 06 si not nearly as much fun to drive as the spec except when it hits vtec.

i dont think it will be a pos. what i do think is nissan learned from theyre mistake and had the guy that engineered the vq lead the new qr25 construction for a reason. i dont know, this coming year will be a testament if nissan learned or not. lets see how many come off the lot falling apart or chugging oil before we crown it a 'POS' .

lower it and throw some 18" wheels and i think the new spec will be awesome looking. the civic guys are just mad cuz they are afraid that the new spec will probably outperform them . typical honda fanboy

the new si Suckkkkks I beat a 4 door hands down start to finish (both bone stock) cant go into detail st race. How ever it looks like a throw back CRX from the back and a star trak shuttle on the sides. It may look a little better than the new Spec but not my 06. Anytime some one with exhaust on a Si comes down my st i have to close my windows i think killer bees are coming. To make it short maybe nissan did not go all out and make a true sport compact but we still have the alti coupe to look forward to. If not there are many other choices before i ever look at a Honda again.

People that were on that forum are the sole reason I got out of Hondas back in 2002. I love the cars and motors are nice but the community turned into crap after F&F. And for the record, damn near all new cars look like crap now.

i remember back in the mid 90's when it was cool to tune a civic or a ls integra to smoke a 5.0 mustang. ever since that gay movie came out the whole import world went to hell.
whats funny is our parents(50+if applies to you) cars are remembered as asphalt pounding muscle cars and our generation will be remembered as poorly modded, functionless, loud, and slow rice cars. despite all the good things these will shine the most thanx to that gay movie.
