No screen in MAF for '06 SpecV?
Last night my friend and I installed a CAI (bought from MN01GXE) in my '06 Spec. We discovered that my stock MAF did not have that mesh screen. Is that unusual? MN01GXE was nice enough to include a MAF with the purchase, but the connector was slightly different so we stuck with the stock/non-mesh screen MAF...

sounds about right... my 06 spec doesnt have one either... came that way.. band new off the lot (back in 06 that is) 7 miles on the meter...

Yea, I bought mine brand new too. It took me about 3 years to finally get an intake for it, so this was the first time seeing the inside of the MAF. If anybody else has found that theirs also didn't have a mesh screen, please chime in. I'd feel even better if I heard from more people about this.

If I had to guess, I would say the 2.0/2.5L don't have the screen. Probably for the reason that it restricts air flow (I would think it would be minimal anyways) My 01 1.8L did have a screen.
If yours didn't come with one, I wouldn't worry about it. |

Alright then I'm gonna leave this thread assuming that all QR's do NOT have a mesh screen in the MAF.

Mine has a screen on the MAf if i remember correctly. mine is an 02 spec V though.

I have an 06, and I never really looked since I have nismo Gen II intake, but I didn't notice when I did the swap. Probably isn't one.

02/03 does, 04-06 does not. i got a 05 MAF to upgrade, and wondered the same thing, but everyone with an 04-06 told me they had no screen.
