Nothing special - coilovers, full exhaust, bump steer, brakes. But it all in how they were set up that makes it work so well.

And yea.. the girls werent all that great. (Utah Utes cheerleaders)

This weekend was the 09 Finale at Road Atlanta and the SER walked away with the SE Season Championship! I raced in 9 of 10 events (18 races) and won all but one. And that was because the alternator came apart at CMP

But each event we kept tweaking the SER a little bit, and each time getting a little faster - eventually setting 6 track records. Even breaking records we set earlier in the year.

This weekend I shattered the previous (and long standing) RA record of 1m 46s with a 1m 43.3s run. No one could come close to us this weekend. The only mod Big J and I did was switching to an 04 tranny. The tighter spacing is nice in 5th - but really is too short in 2, 3, and 4th for my tastes. I prefer the 02 gearing up to 90mph.

Anyway, it took some time on Saturday to get used to the new shift points but after 2 sessions I was running consistent 1.43s and topping 5th gear on the back straight at 133mph. My camber got screwed up on Saturday b/c I kept jumping the gators. So I drove the car with 1 less degree on the left side. To make things worse, our right front and rear shocks have been shot for some time. Probably all year. We dont think there is any fluid left in them. They howl when compressed and drop like a rock when extended. Nice eh?

Next year we are looking forward to the new KSport race suspension and some quicker times.

I had some trouble with the cam in the car, but I shot this video in the last session. I was just cruising around before putting the car on the trailer. The first vid is how our car compares to a bone stock STi, and a nicely modded RX8. The second video is two laps - running close to my record.

Enjoy!

I think 179whp is fairly low actually.

Shot from this weekend.

Considering that's around what they are meant to put out at the flywheel, I'd say thats very high lol.

A generous dyno maybe? Although it sure does perform like 179whp on the track.

Do you still have a cat? I know with the header's you lose the precat.

I have a side exhaust - race header, no AC - just a pulley. Tuned, 13lbs wheels, two piece rotors, l/w flywheel. All of this frees up HP.

I was hoping to make 190whp with this set up.

Cams arent worth the points addition. SAFCs are free mods, and I picked up 7whp there.

Exhaust flow is VERY sensitive on the QR, very. A short side exit exhaust makes a huge difference, but it's probably too loud for a street car. There is a reason JWT recommends a 3" collector with their new C1 cams. The light weight wheels, rotors, and flywheel combination don't make HP, but it frees it up. 15hp + is probably due to the light weight stuff. So figure 165hp w/o the light weight parts combo and it's more in line w/ the motor parts it has.

The high comp motor for next year should have the giant JWT C1 cams and a custom header, and a good deal of extra TLC and parts.
