The cheapest price I remember is about 32 cents in the early 70's. Of course my Duster 340 got 10 mpg on the highway and I rarely had more than $3 in my pocket. When I graduated college in 1972, $10,000 a year was a top starting salary. I started at $8400. Oh well, just the ramblings of an OG.

![]() When I first started driving in '95-96, gas was $.99/gallon. Even a high schooler like myself could afford to drive a '77 Chevy truck that got 8 mpg.... |

Its almost depressing how bad the 2.0 Sentra was on gas.
2000 Sentra 2.0L I-4 w/ 145 HP. ~2800 lbs. 21 city/27 highway/23 combined. 2011 Altima 3.5L V-6 w/ 270 HP. ~3300 lbs. 20 city/27 highway/23 combined. I'm averaging 25.1. The wife's '03 Sentra GXE average is 27.1. I don't know if should I or .

Mileage on the Subaru is about 22 mpg in winter and 24.5 mpg in summer with 70% town driving. It gets about 30mpg on a trip. |

I've only seen over 20 mpg in my current car once on a road trip. Usually 17-18 on my routine commute. After driving slow cars in the pursuit of gas mileage for 8 years, I'm fine with that. $50 a week on gas isn't a big deal.

Is that on the Soul? My Forte hatch gets 27mpg on winter gas and 29mpg on the regular kind.

Nope, the Soul routinely got 30+ mpg on the same commute. Traded it in October for a Veracruz. My "extra" car is a Z28. My wife's ES seems like a Prius in comparison.
