^^ As you can see, a full SMF build could be a little expensive

A few days ago I was able to get my consult cable (Blazt) working between the car and computer, which allowed me to mess with base idle and timing, among other things. I found the timing was off (advanced ), so I backed it down to the appropriate setting. I finally got around to a test drive last night. I thought it would be more sluggish with less timing, but I was wrong. That few degrees must have been enough in the hot weather (over 90F everyday) to cause some knock and the ecu pull timing, because it felt like a new animal on the top end. Everything was working well, so I even bumped the boost up another pound to 15psi. Car is feeling good I need to do some datalogs and make sure everything is in order, then I may add another pound or two and see how it feels. Probably should hit a dyno and the track again, too.

On the down side, I also need to get the car through inspection in the next few weeks. Shouldn't be a huge deal, but it means I have to take off the race exhaust and put the full system back on. Not something I really want to do in this heat... It was still 90F at 9:30 last night.

It's good to hear the car is running better now. More power never hurts, now you need to figure out how much it's putting out.

The STi is still faster though.
