New to the Board and Spec V's

I'm Kevin, I'm 21 years old. I traded in my Cobalt for a '06 Spec V with the Brembo brakes about a month ago. I'm loving it so far! She's not a drag racer but she handles like no other FWD car I've driven. Anyways I'm looking to do basic bolt-ons...but I'm not sure what brands, or even which parts I should replace.

I know about the flutterbys and the pre-cat. I've heard that for 2006 the flutterbys were redesigned and only the pre-cat was an issue though. How true is this? I'm looking to do CAI, header, catless dp, cat back, motor mounts, and possibly a short throw...what brands are the most popular for my car? Also I'm wanting to get a deep exhaust tone...not too ricey.

if you worry about tone, then you need a good brand header and good brand catback, otherwise itll be ricey if its too loud, you could always add a resonator.

Welcome ! Be carefull with the catback , from what I know from doing research for my own car . You either need a big resonator , or one of a few catbacks for it not to be raspy as hell . Apexi WS2 , Stromung , Greddy Evo 2 , are the best sounding from what I heard in sound clips and my car which has the evo 2 . Good luck with the car!

Thanks for the help. After looking at exhausts I really like the Stromung.

Hey if you're looking for exhaust I can hook you up. I have an OBX 4-2-1 header and downpipe (no pre or catalytic converter) and GReddy EVO II Full catback. I would be willing to ship too. LMK if you're interested

My dealer told me the butterfly's on the 02's were not a problem. Everyone of them was loose! Check them, no matter what the year.
