Thanks for all the thoughts everyone.

Well we are back...2500 miles of driving. Our little girl was great most of the way minus Monday night when we were getting into Kansas City and we had been in the car almost 10 hours. The service was nice, but I still didn't know what to say at all and didn't really say anything...I can't imagine losing our little girl.

I went the morning before the service and got a card and 3 gift cards to different places to eat. Hopefully they can use them and they are all places close to their house.

I am exhausted though and work is now piled up pretty bad. Before I left I got stuff ready to take work with my to do in the car and asked if I could get time toward my normal hours instead of vacation time (they aren't giving me any Bereavement Leave so I had to take vacation time) if I worked on stuff during the trip and he said no. So that kind of puts me in a bad mood being back at work now.

Lol I wish that was the case. Sadly they are binders (plans) full of paper and CDs that I need to review. There are so many that I had to start overlapping them on my desk because I don't have anymore room.

Sounds like my old job. Whenever I was away my co workers would save everything for me to do when I got back. It got to the point that during my last year there I didn't take a single day off. When I left the company paid me for four weeks unused vacation.

I started having symptoms Friday evening. I went to the ER Sunday evening and was diagnosed with them. Passed one Monday evening and another Wednesday morning. I'd been pain free since.

The stupid part of this is the antibiotic the ER doctor prescribed has a side-effect of enhanced sensitivity to sunlight. So, now, I'm sun-burnt on my arms and face because I wrongly assumed I would be okay for a 30 minute ride to/from work in my Altima w/ tinted windows.

Glad you are better Y2k. Me going through what I just have had to endure....I have complete sympathy for that part of the anatomy that produces mega-pain. Get better soon.

Some of my prescriptions will produce sunburn in as little as 15 minutes. Very common side effect. Kidney stones is probably the only thing I haven't had! Don't they zap those with ultra sound these days?

Same here..no kidney stones. I thought they could analyze them and tell what and why you got them. I think coffee retards a certain type.

Since I have no prostate I could drop one of my meds..I am down to only two right now....BP med and Protonex...not bad

They blast them with what are basically intense sound waves if they are too large to pass on their own. Mine weren't this time. I have a follow-up appointment tomorrow to see if the cause can be determined.

Ran the mini marathon Saturday. It was horrible

Hot/humid is my kryptonite. I get super hot when I run anyway, but it was miserable. At the start it was 68 with 90% humidity. By the end it was high 70's with 70-80% humidity still.

I walked more than I wanted, but my main goal was to avoid heat stroke and I felt horrible after the race anyway. I stopped at every water station and still lost 6 lbs during the race. Oh yeah and throw in a drove 3,000 miles since the week before and I get no sleep with our baby girl.

I am totally not looking forward to the other half marathon I signed up for on the 19th...it is a much harder race and the temps so far aren't looking promising.

.
My son and his wife ran the Phila 10 mile yesterday. He ran it in 73 minutes. He thought he could cut off a minute or two from last year. But he and his wife were out the night be fore and they had a very late dinner complete with Margaritas...no wonder. He is now 37 so its going to be hard knocking off times.

He is way better than I was at that age.

I've been running 4 miles, every other day for the past few months. Can't see how anyone "likes" doing it, LOL. I guess we all unwind in different ways, but once I get down to my target weight and my lung capacity improves to where it needs to be, I'll be doing a lot less running.... Plus, summer's coming and running in triple digit heat doesn't sound inviting.

Before getting pregnant, my wife was a big marathon runner. Never understood the obsession then, either.
