2006 sentra spec V WILL NOT REV PAST 2K

B15 friends i need some help my car wont rev past 2k rpms , i was driving on the freeway and the car started acting weird and it wouldnot go past 2krps so i had to pull to the side.

This happen to my 95 ser and it was the MAF not sure if it would be the same with this cars please help.

you need to pull the codes. it could be maf or tps failure. there's also a recall for something similar as well which includes an ecu reprogram. are you upto date on your recalls?

p0011 - ivt control performance

the most common causes of this code is usually ivt solenoid, crankshaft position sensor, or camshaft position sensor.

have you upgraded your cam&crank to newer type sensors? also check the connections to all 3 sensors just in case its loose or something. check your battery terminals and grounds for good connection.

i will go ahead and replace the cam and crank sensor and see if that fixes the issue

Changed the crank/camshaft and its still didnt fix the problem, car runs great but when the SES check engine light comes on it won't let me rev past 2k RPMs , someone help its getting really frustrating

did you get the same code?

have you checked the solenoid is functioning?

there is troubleshooting for this in the fsm.

change the crank and camshaft sensor already, replaced the variable valve timing control solenoid and same thing code came back. its hard to start and im pretty much thinking the timing is off

im guessing you replaced the solenoid because it didnt work? did you check the voltages from the harnesses? did you work on the car previous to getting this code, changing the timing? the code you have is basically saying that the input the ecu is receiving doesnt perform properly, have you checked the voltages at the cam sensor? are you following the fsm?
