MAF sensor Question

My daughter's car CEL came on for this. I disconnected the batt, cleanded the MAF, and reassembled everything. this fixed the problem. However, I think i may have to buy a new MAF sensor, if it does it again. I looked on RockAuto and the prices range from about $55 to $200 or more.

Do you folks think the $55 one is as good as good as the really expensive ones?

Thanks for your input.

year and model b15...? what code was it? i definately would stay with genuine nissan maf, def no cheap ones for this part.

check the battery terminals and grounds for tightness and good contact, check the battery voltage motor on&off as well.

Ok- her car is a Kia. wondering if there was a great difference in products.
i think the code wa 0100. anyway, it was the MAF sensor--- cleaning fixed it, but this is the 2nd it's happened. if it happens again, i think i should just replace it. Batt and cables are good.

I know- however, Kia doesn't have a good forum like this one.

I thought it would be a simple question a bit generic-- Is one brand of MAFsensor better than another? is a $55 one as good as the $200 one? they all look pretty much the same.

if its for a nissan, use ONLY genuine nissan maf

for a kia, i dont have a clue. those cheapo $50 ones dont work on nissans, and sometimes cause more problems than they fix. im sure the $50 are not much different than the $200 ones. find one with a warranty in case it doesnt work.
