2003 Sentra GXE
WONDERFUL, first thread, just realized I posted in wrong section, sorry guys my allergies are facking with my eyes today..
Mods please move it if you catch it!! ![]() Hey guys I just picked up a pretty nice Sentra GXE today with 32k miles on it. ![]() I'm really enjoying it! One thing I did was start out originally shopping for an SE-R, then realize that up here in BC there were too many written-off rebuilds and overpriced cars with way too high mileage. (I shopped low mileage for a slightly older model on purpose to get good bang for buck) I then moved to looking at a GXE which I have purchased and I got an awesome financing deal on it so I ended up coming out with more money to play with than I had anticipated. Currently I have a 10inch sub woofer and box, amp, and CD player/deck ready to be installed next week. I am planning some other things in the near future though and have questions for the people who I feel will know the best solutions. Priority #1 - Does anything need to be done to a Sentra GXE (stock 2003) beyond what you would expect the car to be for increasing reliability? (32,000 miles, regularly serviced, NO collisions) I'm looking to spend whatever it takes, depending on the risk of failure and cost. The car has been inspected already by a very highly trusted mechanic and there are no apparent issues, I am asking for preventative maintenance tips or enhancements. Priority #2 - Sentra SE-R front bumper swap. The thing that really won me over with the SE-R over any other model Sentra was the aggressive front end. I'm not really a fan of the spoiler, and haven't paid too much attention to the butt-end of her. (odd considering I'm a tail-conniseur... *note not referring to cars) Anywho, where on earth does a guy in British Columbia, Canada find a good front bumper that will work. And if at all possible one that was shipped pre painted to match would be a consideration. Going to look at options for this and costs and go from there. Eventually this cosmetic change I feel needs to be made for the car's aesthetics to satisfy me. Priority #3 - Rims... 16s? 17s? 18s? I am so undecided on what exactly to get for rims that I don't currently have any considerations. I like the 5 spoke SE-R rim for starters. I think some 6 spoke wheels similar to R34 rims are super-hot. I despise 4 spoke, but some 3 are okay... but 3 spoke in 16 or larger just sounds weird looking to me. I want brushed aluminum or chrome. What types of rim fits this description? Thanks guys, really appreciate any pointers... So glad I found a Sentra community that really satisfies the Sentra enthusiasts. ![]() PS wouldn't mind a slight lowering mod too, but I'm just gonna start doing reading for that one!
