Do anyone know if this can fit into the stock sub in back of the spec? Will it have enought clearace?

I am planning to get the JL 8w3 and I was wondering which amp to use. I just want a decent amp to power the sub only nothing else. How much would I be looking at and what specs should I look for when matching it up with the w3

I would personally go for a mono amp..

a 300Wrms @ 2 ohm one.. then you can run the sub at a perfect 150Wrms @ 4 ohms for now. Then you have another 150 watts to work with later if you want to get a 2 ohm sub setup.

The stock sub box is about 0.40 cu ft volume so that 8w3 should work fine with it.

What do this mean when an sub says this?

sealed box volume 0.1-0.5 cubic feet
ported box volume 0.1-0.75 cub
will that fit?

Im lookin at this sub

I have done it already...a JL8W3 so it will fit and so will a 10" JL w3v2 but you will need polyfill to help with the internal volume.

On the 8" sub i used a pioneer GM-X362, which it sounded nicer then stock. I still have that amp if you wanna buy it.
