Just had my Clarion DXZ835MP installed today and absolutely love it, but the face does not want to fold down when the eject button is pushed. It's as if something is preventing it from opening. My car was the last install at the shop I went to and by the time I realized the problem with the face everyone was gone. What needs to be done to allow the deck to fold properly? Is it something I can do or should I wait until Monday and let the shop fool with it?

hey it might be cuz of the dash kit man. The bottom of the dash kit needs to be trimed so the face can move down. If it's not that them I don't know man...

Yeah, make sure they get a good look at the trim. This is why I specifically will not buy a motorized fold down face, because they have a tendancy to break down after a period of time.

Umm... what does his trim piece on the car stopping the unit from opening due to it being installed improperly have to do with 'a tendency to break down after a period of time'. Heh...

well it comes down to the head umit. Some will let you install the head a little more forward so that the face can fold down but alot of them tend to stick out too much. So I trimmed mine when I had my Kenwood.

Well the problem is now fixed. Took it to the install shop Monday and it took the guy 5 minutes to fix it. He said he had already shaved part of the dash kit down with a dremel and it must of slid slightly out of place when he reinserted the deck the last time. He just took an exacto knife and chipped a little bit away on the left bottom corner and that allowed the deck to open and close properly. BTW, never knew our dashes come apart so easily!

I've had my kenwood HU's for years and the motorized face still works perfect.
