Birthday present to myself this year. :D

This f-cking thing is built like a tank. The heat sinks are huge, and the adjustments are neat, and easy to read.

Post up pics for those who haven't seen it later.

The JL amps are one of the few I would replace my PPI Powerclass with. Although I would love to have placenta's TRU amp. Hehehe.

Trying to find nice things to say? Hehe, :)

Can anyone tell me where I can pick up a test tone CD with Sine Waves on it? I'm going to try and set input levels according to JL's install manual, utilizing Sine Waves and Voltages at the speaker terminals.

Thanks.

You need to make sure they are 0db tones. Do not trust cheapo tone generators like NCH, the tones it makes are nowhere near 0db. Neither the ones you find online. I made mine using adobe audition (cool edit). Free fully functional demo from adobe's site for 30 days.

Hook me up man! :)

I've never used a test tone, so I'm sort of a noob in that respect. I usually tune by ear, which always worked. Just firgured I would try something different.

Congrat's on the amp. I was very close to going with a 300/4, 500/1 combo. I ended up with a 450/4, 1000/1 combo and it's probably overkill.

I love that 1000/1. I may eventually consider dumping my 10w3v2 for something a little......stronger....

I don't plan on getting rid of this car, so I'm considering.......

a 13w7 powered by a 1000/1 :D

That 13w7 might get rid of the car for you. Mine sounds like it's going to shake apart with the 2 12w6v2's. Even with tons of Dynamat, Sentra's aren't very good stereo vehicles. I'm going to start isolating some of the rattles this weekend. :(

I was considering that too. I have 3 separate rattles already, but they are in the cabin. I think I know the location.

I was going to ask someone how the trunk withstood with dynamat. Guess you answered that for me.

The trunk is OK. It's the interior that is falling apart. With some work, I think I can secure most of it well enough. My last system was in a Ford truck so I'm a little spoiled. No Dynamat and it was still more solid. Before that was a Taurus SHO and it handled it even better than the truck.

Found a disc.

Lasertrak CD2000. $22 online, but it has the required 1000khz test tone @0db.

No stores around me have any. Looks like I'm S.O.L.

I can make a 1000Hz 0db tone and send it to you.

Keep in mind you need an RMS multimeter. Also, after you adjust the gains on the JL, re-adjust the sub amp so they much, using the set gains on the JL as refference.
