Black just looks really good.....sexy as hell when it's nice and shiny with a fresh coat of wax.....Just hard to keep clean...Nice looking car..;)

It is hard to keep clean, but that's why I don't bother. I whail the snot out of it and I smear ice cream on the seats.

Seriously though, it is, but I don't care. I wash it once a week and wax every other and it's mostly clean enough.

How much did you get the leather for, or did it come with when you bought the car?

I got the leather put in as part of the deal with the dealership. I got rid of a 99 chevy with leather sunroof v6 cd and tape etc etc etc... totally loaded

so I wanted leather.

it was a thousand bucks (bringing total car cost to 16,500 or so) and it's included in the financing and warranty etc.

these guys did the work

http://www.classicsofttrim.com/

I wanted the silver and red se-r logo but it's a copyright thing etc so they did that one, but that logo could only be one color. It's really like a very dark grey lettering on black, but in the pic the lettering looks lighter and more silver...

Looks great- I'm assuming you don't have the performance package, right? That's how you got the 5spd, and don't have LSD? Leather is beautiful, but sticky in summer and cold in winter. My g.f. has a Tibby with leather, and we both hate it. My $.02

Well, what do you mean by sport package?

The SE-R *is* a sport package. Harder suspension, manual gear box, bigger motor, bigger tires...

I have the book and the website and I never saw anything really about a sport package...

I think the only options you have are abs, sunroof, and the audiophile package.

And no, se-r's don't come with limited slip dif.

The sport package is a Canadian thing.

On the SE-R, it gives you ABS/Sliding power sunroof/RF 300 Watt/Anti theft and Immobilizer key. But on the SE-R it forces you to get the auto trans as well.

On the SpecV, the sport package is the same, but you get to keep your 6 spd.

:)

I like the leather look it's pretty damn tight but I don't dig you trashin the Spec V man!!! I happen to dig the Lava int....no really I do but I have the Aztec Red one so it atleast matches not like the Viberant Blue. don't get me wrong the blue is a nice color but in my opinion it doesn't match the red in the interior. Sorry Blue owners. The LSD rules and have no complaints about the suspension. It felt to me that the spec had more power when I test drove them and the auto didn't do much for me either (I like manuals) besides you don't touch 6th until 70mph minimum and if you are racing you would stay in fourth towards the top end anyway and if you had to fifth gear would do it. (I don't really race anyone too far over 100 mph beacause too much can go too wrong very quickly so I may be wrong on the fourth/fifth schpeal I went into).I havn't raced this car (still breakin her in) but I have been on her here and there and found that there is plenty when needed and there is always room for improvement. I am a huge fan of the spec V I drove both (SER and Spec) and by far loved the Spec 10x better it's all a matter of preference and taste sorry I blasted off like this but just had to.

Just wait until your lava seets start to fuzz up and fall apart. That'll suck. I agree. They look good on red cars, other than that... not by bag. They clash badly, and they fall apart...

The LSD does rule, like I said, mostly it was time and money (that I got the non spec)

that and I'm replacing everything the spec-v comes with (over the se-r) anyway so I'd rather not waste 4 grand buying them twice.... I may have to add in the LSD later though.

The Spec-V may *feel* more powerful until a 5 speed SE-R is either right along side you, or ahead of you =)

that notchy 6 speed and the extra shift... (well, you read the rant... you know my reasons...)

Yah it is a matter of taste and preferece, you have your opinion, I have mine, and it's all good.

Fortunately I have a website of my own I can spout off on and the desire to replace all the spec-v grade stuff with better aftermarket stuff ;)

peace.

Probably not, I gotta go catch blade friday with a friend (after 3 days of conferences something mind numbing will be nice).

Saturday I'm supposed to go visit a friend who's coming to the area and take out his friend's girlfriend who is apparently a hooters girl or something.

I'm afraid.

Thanks though. Maybe another time?

i just checked out your site. you are certifiable, but your car looks good. here's one se-r vs. spec v issue that you haven't addressed. don't you wish you could relate to the super sweet cd-rom "master of the sixth speed." i think that's a huge advantage that i'm glad i paid $1000 more to enjoy!

Certifiable in what way ;)

Well, if you read the cd, it says something like "all aplies to the se-r also unless specified" or something like that.

plus it seems the 5 speeds are capable of "mastering the 6 speed" off the line ;)

Hey aztec spec k , wanna race, i'll make you feel like you wasted that extra $1000 on that POS 6 speed. you know what i would beat you so bad you will be wishing you bought an SE. my 5 speed will master you 6 speed anyday, lol i ran 16.3 without 3rd gear, some people with the 6 speed are running that, how sad is that. i don't have 3rd gear right now but i am getting a new tranny this week. and don;t say thats a sign of weekness either, you haven't seen how hard i drive, i am sure that 6 speed would be in a million different pieces if i drove it for a day
